Spanish Curriculum Vision, Aims and Overview
Key Aims of Spanish at Harefield School:
The Year 7 Spanish curriculum is designed to provide students with a foundational understanding of the Spanish language and culture, fostering communication skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students will develop linguistic competence and cultural awareness through engaging lessons on basic vocabulary, greetings, numbers, classroom instructions, and cultural exploration. The curriculum emphasises active learning through interactive activities, self-assessment, and peer feedback, promoting respect, responsibility, honesty, and compassion. By integrating real-life contexts and cross-curricular links, the program aims to build a solid foundation for future language learning and global citizenship.
